This panel will explore how regulatory frameworks are evolving across key jurisdictions, with a comparative lens on enforcement strategies and regulatory priorities. While offering a global perspective, the session will highlight how regulatory actions in Australia are shaping bank engagement with the regulator, as well as influencing local compliance and surveillance resourcing and practices. Speakers will examine how regulators are responding to geopolitical and economic pressures, and how firms are adapting to increasingly complex expectations across borders. Panel – Exploring Cross-Product Abuse Beyond Fixed Income: Lessons from Commodities Enforcement

Regulatory enforcement in fixed income markets has been a consistent theme in recent years, with multiple high-profile cases of cross-product market manipulation. However, recent actions by ASIC and other global regulators (CFTC) highlight that cross-product abuse is not confined to fixed income. Commodities markets have seen significant scrutiny, particularly around settlement price manipulation over the past 18 months. This session will examine how these cases are shaping regulatory expectations and enforcement trends, and explore how market participants can adapt surveillance strategies, enhance data capabilities, and strengthen governance frameworks to detect misconduct.
