RegHub Summit New York 2023

TH Gherkin Quick Selection-04

RegHub Summit

We're excited to invite you to our first-ever RegHub Summit in New York. This morning event will bring together regulators, senior risk and surveillance professionals and industry thought leaders for a morning of insightful discussion. The panel will explore two critical areas: the emerging surveillance risk associated with primary market manipulation, and the industry's readiness to identify cross-product market manipulation and how registrant firms can ensure a well-designed program is in place. Both discussions will be held under the Chatham House Rule.

Agenda

This event will consist of two panel discussions, a welcome address from TradingHub Chief Executive Officer - Neil Walker, and a breakfast networking session. You can download the full agenda here.

Read more about the panel discussions and guest speakers below.

Primary Market Manipulation - An Emerging Surveillance Risk.

A rise in enforcement actions related to primary market manipulation has shown the emergence of a potentially significant surveillance risk. Is this risk receiving enough attention from the vendor community and surveillance teams in financial institutions?

Confirmed panellists:

  1. Ian McGinley, Director of the Division of Enforcement, CFTC.
  2. Sean Dusseau, Managing Director, Global Head of Swap Dealer and Derivatives Compliance, Scotiabank.
  3. Nader S. Raja, Member, Litigation, Moore & Van Allen.
  4. Mike Coats, Chief Technology Officer, TradingHub.
  5. Shayne Ganeson, Head of North America, TradingHub (Moderator).

Effective Cross-Product Surveillance – The Best Approach.

It is well documented that enforcement actions of late have been very focused on very sophisticated cases of cross-product market manipulation. We have seen cases brought by the Department of Justice (DOJ) where orders in the futures markets have been used to spoof the US Treasury markets – exploiting the shared risk exposure of these securities. Cases of spoofing are getting more sophisticated – or have they always been happening, and is the fog simply lifting on the perpetrators?

Confirmed panellists:

  1. Edward Dasso, Senior Vice President of Market Regulation, NFA.
  2. Paul Fagone, Principal, Advisory, FS Regulatory and Compliance Risk, KPMG.
  3. Andrew Waters, Global Head of Regulatory Affairs, TradingHub.
  4. Shayne Ganeson, Head of North America, TradingHub (Moderator).
